Проблема. Установил прогу. Включаю но выдвет ошибку. error -2/-79. Написал в саппорт. Прислали мне ответ:

while still being able to browse the web is a firewall blocking your

A corporate Firewall

A new Cable/DSL router? (If so, is it a wireless router?)

likely find the source of the trouble and get you back online quickly.

It would also be helpful if you could send us your program log files
(PokerStars.log.0, PokerStarsUpdate.log, PokerStarsCommunicate.log if
present) that are located in your PokerStars folder.

To find the log files, double click on "My Computer", then "local disk
(C". Depending on where the program was saved to, you should see
a "PokerStars" folder either here or in the "Program Files" folder.
Inside the "PokerStars" folder you will find the log files. Please attach
these files to an email and send it to [Зарегистрироваться?].

Please note it is important that you send us these files as soon as you
can as they are only kept for a period of one day.

Сделал все как они сказали, перезагурзил комп. Проверил Дату, все ок. Ниодной из этих прог я не полльзуюсь. Раньше все ок работало, где то в мае. Никто не сталкивался?
Я им так и ответил но пока молчат.

а как у тебя интернет организован. Какие антивирусы стоят? У тебя видимо порты прикрыты или на машине, или провайдером...
1. Попробуй на этой машине другой интернет. gprs например.
2. Если не помжет, попробуй добавить старзы добавить в доверенные приложения в брендмауэре...
3. Не поможет, попробуй переустановить виндовс.

The reason you're not able to log onto PokerStars from an alternate
Windows Vista account is one of permissions. When PokerStars is installed
by one user on Windows Vista, other user accounts on that computer will
be able to see the PokerStars directory, but won't be able to write to
it.

However, the PokerStars client needs to be able to write to several
files while it runs. Only the owner (the user that installed
PokerStars) and members of the Windows Administrators group will be
able to run PokerStars without some changes to the security. Other Vista
users that are not Administrators will not be able to run PokerStars
without some changes to the file permissions of Windows Vista.

One way to accomplish this is to install (or move) the PokerStars software
into the "Shared Documents" folder. The "Shared Documents" folder is the
only folder with the necessary permissions when using Vista Home Edition.

With Vista Professional, you may either use the "Shared Documents"
solution above, or you may directly change the file permissions.
To make these changes you must be logged onto Vista as an account with
Administrator privileges. To make the necessary changes, here are the
appropriate steps:

1) Run Windows Explorer.

2) Locate the PokerStars directory, most often:

C:\Program Files\PokerStars

3) Right-click on the PokerStars directory name, and
select "Properties"

4) Select the "Security" tab. It may be that there is no Security tab.
If you only see "General", "Sharing", "Web Sharing" and "Customize",
then follow these instructions to enable the security tab. Otherwise,
skip to step 5.

4a) Close Windows Explorer.

4b) Click "Start" -> Control Panel -> Folder Options

4c) From the "View" tab, in the Advanced Settings box, near the
bottom, CLEAR (or uncheck) the box for "Use Simple File
Sharing".

4d) Click Apply, OK, and then close Control Panel.

4e) Return to Step 1 above (as this time the Security tab will be
present).

5) From the Security Tab, in the upper box select & highlight "Users"
near the end of the list of Group or User names.

6) In the lower box, which should now be titled "Permissions for
Users", check the "Allow" box for "Full Control" and ensure that NONE
of the boxes under "Deny" are checked.

7) Click Apply, OK, and close Windows Explorer.

8) Log off as the Administrative user, and log on as the user you as
whom you were having difficulty.

9) Finally, if the new user does not have a PokerStars icon on the
desktop or on the menu, you may add one easily by RIGHT-clicking
on "Start" and selecting "Open". Double-click Programs, and then
choose from the menu "File -> New -> Shortcut". Click "Browse" in the
window that comes up, and locate "PokerStarsUpdate.exe", which should
be under "My Computer" -> "C:\Program Files\PokerStars". Depending on
how your computer is configured, it may not have ".EXE" at the end,
but it will be "PokerStarsUpdate" and will have the red and orange
logo next to it.

Once you've created the icon (if necessary) you will now be ready and
able to run PokerStars as this user.

Говорят, -2/-79 у них - ошибка записи.

Похоже, намутили они чего-то с защитой типа чтоб покерстарз мог пользовать только его хозяин, а не все кто имеет доступ к компьютеру. А в home-версиях их защита не работает, поэтому нужно открыть общий доступ. Колдуны, короче. Пробовал выполнить, что прописали - не помогло.

Поэтому клиента пока запускаю непосредственно из папки, а не иконкой PokerStarsUpdate с рабочего стола.

Попробовал как ты и сказал запускать вручную, все работает.))) Слушай а если будут обновления как быть? Ты давно так играешь? проблем не будет?

Вот, играю так несколько дней с начала августа.

Если будут проблемы с обновлениями, попросят написать в саппорт. Тогда (я так думаю) придется вручную тащить и устанавливать полную новую версию. И так пока не найдем решение.

Проблем, скорее всего, не будет, пока Старзы не поменяют что-нибудь существенное в протоколе работы клиента с сервером - тогда старый клиент просто с сервером коннектиться не будет. Я так полгода клиента не обновлял, пока при очередном запуске он не ругнулся на "истекший срок действия сертификата" и не затребовал полной переустановки.

недавно сам поставил старзы, вылезала такая же ошибка, писал в саппорт.
запускал старзы через ярлык "pokerstars" на столе, который создался автоматически, но он ссылался на "pokerstarsupdate.exe" поэтому вылезала ошибка
